Life Fitness extends partnership with Latvian Ice Hockey Federation to support team during 2021 World Championship

Official distributor Gfitness supplied ICG® IC8 indoor cycles to men’s national team. 
Life Fitness equipment is also installed at the team’s new home, Daugava National Stadium. 

June 10th 2021 – ICG® IC8 bikes were recently supplied to the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation (LHF), hosts of the 2021 IIHF World Championship, to support the team’s preparation and training during the tournament. 

As the biggest global contest for the sport, the World Championship brings together the top 16 teams to compete for the coveted title. Due to COVID restrictions, the Latvian team were unable to train in the central gym, so IC8 indoor cycles were installed in the players’ hotel rooms to aid fitness and recovery.

The bikes were provided by Gfitness, official distributor of Life Fitness, ICG®, Cybex, Hammer Strength, and SCIFIT equipment, in the Baltic region.

“We first partnered with Life Fitness a few years ago when we were sourcing exercise bikes for the players to use in the changing rooms on matchdays. The team will soon be able to train using a full range of Life Fitness equipment when they move to their new home, Daugava National Stadium, in Riga. The multisport facility, which is undergoing major renovation works to include the construction of a new ice arena, is also home to the Latvian national football team.
